Duncan’s Code 3 Barbecue Sauce was developed from a family recipe that was passed down to Anthony from his father, Edward Duncan, who worked for the railroad and was always called upon to provide the sauce for the company picnics and special events.
THE MAN BEHIND THE MAN
My vision and motivation was birthed by my father Edward Duncan, the man behind me. My father was a very proud man who was a hard worker never having the opportunity to get an education due to the need to take care of his family. Though not having the opportunity for an education he was an avid reader well versed on many topics, which helped to prepare my sisters and I with what we needed for our futures. Though not rich materialistically we were made rich by being raised with unconditional love, pride , principle and a solid foundation for life. My father also extended his love from his family to his neighbors, his friends, his co-workers and even the people who knew these people by whipping up a batch of barbeque sauce to be enjoyed at family dinners, company picnics, and many other special occasions, never charging people for his delicious sauce, because his reward was watching people enjoy eating his sauce. After seeing so many people continuously come back for more and more sauce we wondered why he didn’t market his sauce but Dad was so busy giving to us those intangible tools he never got around to prof- iting financially. My father Edward Duncan passed away without the opportunity to benefit financially from his sauce but he did have the opportunity to see the fruit of his labor in his children and grandchildren. In this day and age where there are so many absentee fathers I desire to carry on my fathers legacy by being there for my children, raising them with the same foundation my father raised me with and honoring the man who sacrificially shared himself with many, by keeping the dream alive through “Duncan’s Code 3”.
